Hand your bookkeeper a file that balances.
Pick a period and a format, download the file, import it. You do not need an accounting-software account.
What an export gives you
Five file formats
A plain CSV a person can read, a double-entry journal CSV, the QuickBooks Online import, the QuickBooks Desktop IIF file and the Xero invoice import.
Sales tax on its own line
Tax is its own row in the file, against its own account, and is never folded into the service amount.
Periods cut in your time zone
A month ends at midnight in your community’s time zone.
A journal that adds up
The journal format carries debit and credit columns that sum equal, and the file is checked against the ledger it came from.
How an export works
- Choose the period you are closing.
- Choose the format your bookkeeper imports.
- Download the file and import it into QuickBooks, Xero or a spreadsheet.
A community’s file and a vendor’s file are built separately. Your file holds what you were billed and what you paid.
